Cozy Time with Carol

My favorite thing to do is settle in for a lazy day or much needed relaxation time after work. Here is my formula for the perfect lazy time!

Step 1:
Find a good show or a good book to indulge in. My favorite thing to watch right now since it's the Christmas season, are the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, of course. They're cheesy, but comforting, and since you always know there will be a happy ending, they are carefree and magical for the season! I also recently started watching Shameless on Netflix, and I cannot stop! My favorites to re-watch include Gossip Girl, The O.C., and Breaking Bad. I also love The Great British Baking Show and anything scary, or the Netflix Christmas films! I try to read, but with school and work, it's hard to find the time. I try to make an effort to read at least one chapter each night before bed. It's a good opportunity to put away the electronics, crank up the jazz vibes playlist on Spotify, and unwind before bed. I also love to journal at night. This helps me to clear my head and also brings inspiration. Another fun thing to do is meditate. Meditating is a great way to reflect on your day and helps to bring you peace. The app I use is called Calm, and it is free on the App Store! Even 15 minutes is effective. You will be amazed at how peaceful you feel after doing this.

Step 2:
Make yourself something warm to drink
I love warm drinks, especially when it's chilly out. They're just so comforting! I always love coffee in the morning, then I also enjoy tea, and now that it's seasonally appropriate, hot chocolate! My favorite teas are chai, green, and sleepy time herbal tea with honey for bed time. For hot chocolate, we mix a Swiss Miss packet with one part water, one part milk, and lots of whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and marshmallows! I like to settle in with a book, tv show or movie, or find a good article to read online while I sip. Pure relaxation!

Step 3:
Change into something cozy
My all time favorite thing to wear to be lazy is this lightweight hoodie from Target. I got it in the summer, and have worn it all the time since then! I pair it with my Calvin Klein pink triangle bra and some loose joggers I got at TJ Maxx. When it's really cold, I love to wear my Nick & Nora pajama sets from Target. I also wear these on Christmas morning to be festive. My favorites are the macarons, but I love the NYC ones too!

Step 4:
Light a candle, get some fuzzy socks on your feet, and settle in for a day or evening of nothing but you time! You deserve it!
